CASSIE CHANTEL & TRIBE
Cassie Chantel & Tribe is a switch band meaning, the faces will change but the sound of good music will always reign. Spawning from Chantel’s love for remixing her original music for live performances, this ensemble bends, blends, but mostly transcends genres.
Chantel had been playing live shows with saxophone player Sakeem King, supporting vocalist B3still, and drummer Scott Sutton during her nationwide tour in 2021. These shows consisted of the musicians playing over the MP3 versions of Chantel’s original music. The full band concept was originally formed in March of 2022 in preparation for a Linqua Franqa album release show in April and headling AthFest in June. The budgets from these shows allowed Chantel to pull in more musicians and the outward success of the show generated more gigs thereafter.
Currently, the ensemble consists of a vocal section called The Sangers and live musicians. Members include Portia Renee Burns, Vaykayworld, Chris Ostrich, Phil Cruz, Mark Plemmons, Ian Edwards, Keaton Wheeler, Codey Hudson, Iaine Cooke and Caleb Snead.
